Job Title: Server

Reporting to the General Manager. This position will be based at one (or both) of our two locations (Waterloo and Kitchener). Servers are responsible for providing outstanding customer through prompt service, taking accurate orders, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items, daily specials and Golfzon system (the world's best indoor golf simulator technology!). Performing all duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times is vital to ensuring guests have an enjoyable Golfplay experience.

Hours: 

Full Time (approximately 40 hrs/week) and Part-Time (approximately 20 hrs/week) available 

 

Duties:

• Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure these are given to the appropriate person to execute (i.e. kitchen staff, bartender, etc.).

• Taking reservations and checking in guests through the booking application process.

• Maintain familiarity with the Golfzon systems to ensure customers are set up for success when playing golf on our world class golf simulators.

• Ensuring golf bays are properly set up

• Assist General Manager and customers with Golfplay tournaments, leagues and events

• Maintain familiarity with the composition of all food and drink menu items.

• Serve food and beverages in accordance with Golfplay standards

• Clean designated areas, including opening and closing routines and following hygiene requirements.

• Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked with replacement cutlery

• Clear and clean tables and  golf bays in a timely manner. 

• Ensure that customers transactions are completed accurately. 

• At all times to be aware of and practice good customer service, assisting the customer in any way which does not adversely affect other customers.

• Attend to customer complaints satisfactorily.

• Carry out on-the-job training to ensure subordinate staff can carry out their duties effectively.

• Be continually aware of and maintain the highest standards of personal hygiene and dress.

• Attend meetings and training courses as required.

• Follow Health, Food Safe and Liquor service guidelines and complying with all Ironwood Bistro and Golfplay policies, procedures and standards.

• Any other duties as assigned.
   

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• High school diploma or GED required. Applicants must be the age of majority or older.

• Strong service experience who thrives on engaging guests.

• 1-3 years of restaurant service experience is an asset.

• Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

• Able to work well under pressure.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.

• Professional appearance and manners.

Job Title: Cook

Reporting to the Head Chef, this position will be based at one (or both) of our two locations (Waterloo and Kitchener).

 

Hours:

Full time, approximately 40 hours per week

 

Duties:

• Working alongside the Ironwood Bistro Head Chef and assistant KM to:

• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

• Prepare, stock food for service.
   

Experience/Qualifications Required:

• 1 year previous cooking experience in a professional kitchen.

• Must have basic knife and kitchen equipment skills.

• Sanitation, hygiene and safe food handling knowledge is required.

• Must be able to follow instructions and have strong organization and time management skills.
