Frequently asked questions

How much money can be raised at a Golfplay event?


Just like an outdoor charty golf tournament, the amount of funds that can be raised at a Golfplay event depends in part on how much time & effort you can put towards promoting your event, securing corporate sponsors and getting prizes donated. A modest tournament of up to 64 participants can raise between $2000 - $5,000, while a large event of up to 128 golfers can raise more than $10,000. We can help build the plan that will help your organization meet its fundrasing goals!




How many people can be in a tournament?


The most golfers we can accomodate at any time is 8 bays x 8 people per bay, playing in alternate shot format in teams of two. For larger groups, we can have multiple tee times, with two or more groups teeing off back to back. The more people you can register, the more money you can raise!




Is food included with a tournament package?


Yes! We recommend you include food in your tournament package. Our famous stone-oven pizzas along with wings or nachos are real crowd plaeasers. You can see our complete menu here




Do people bring their own clubs?


Most golfers will want to bring their own clubs, however for those that don't have clubs, rental sets are available. Note that people playing in the same bay can share a set of clubs - not everyone necessarily needs their own set.




Do we have the entire venue to ourselves?


Yes! The entire Golfplay facility including the bar and lounge are yours for the duration of your event. The space can be used however you wish - be creative! The lounge can be used for a shuffleboard tournament and for prize presentation later. For supporters who would prefer not to golf, we suggest you sell a "dinner only" registration so all your supporters can be part of the fun.




What other fundraising opportunities are there?


In addition to the money generated from registration fees, there are multiple sponsorship opportunities including closest to the pin, longest drive, longest putt as well as presenting and supporting sponsorships. All sponsors get prominent visibility on our digital signage system, which play their logos throughout the entire event. Other wasy to generate additional funds is to sell mulligans, have a prize raffle table or run a 50/50 draw. We are open to creative ideas - we want to help you meet your fundriasing goal!




Is it a lot of work to organize an event at Golfplay?


Not at all! We've set up our fundrasing packages so it's very easy for a group to run a tournament. We provide you with a dedicated werbpage to help promote the event as well as a registration page where people can pay. online. No chasing people down for their money! You simply send out the webpage link to your supporters & they register online. At the end of the tournament we do a reconciliation and can either provide a cheque or e-trasnfer your funds!




How long does an event take?


Our 9 hole tournaments are 2 1/2 hours, while our 18 hole events take approximately 4 1/2 hours. Unlike outdoor tournaments, people are having food & drinks as they play, so there is no need for a dinner afterward. People won't need to take a day off work to play in your tournament!
